Tampa Bay flats fishing is a great way to see a fish in action! The flats of Tampa Bay and south St. Petersburg are a prime place for catching Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and Sharks, as well as other fish species especially in cooler weather.  Tampa Bay has large areas of shallow water. The average boat needs about 3 feet of water to operate. When the Spanish Sardine Charter Boat goes flats fishing you can drift in as little as 8 inches of water! While fishing the flats in shallow water, the water of Tampa Bay is often clear enough so you can sight-cast to trout and redfish.
