I was given the opportunity to charter a group to fish the Hooked on hope Fishing Tournament to benefit Breast cancer. Our target species redfish, snook, and trout. Due to the high tide in the early morning, the first spot that I decided to fish was to try and find the elusive snook. Once the first bait hit the water within seconds the drag on the reel started to sing and peeled some line out. Right then, we knew instantly we were in the right place. Our very first catch was a 28 inch snook.
The Angler Will, was very happy and told me that was his biggest snook he has ever caught. After catching a few good sized snook we moved to another spot and caught trout. We made a few runs to try and catch a nicer size trout. The biggest trout of the day was right at 15 inches caught by angler Scott. While at my trout spot Will and Harvey hooked a few hyper lady fish. I kept them to use her for my redfish. As the day went and the tide started to dropped down, I decided to leave the trout and focus on catching a Redfish. I moved to the best redfish spot I know. We had less than an hour before the end of the tournament. As time passed, We were starting to lose hope. We caught a few small trout and when it was almost time to quit, something took the lady fish. With 5 minutes to spare my angler Harvey did an awesome job of getting the fish to the boat. It was an over slot size 28 inch Redfish. It was a fun trip with awesome results. The team placed 3rd in Redfish and Snook. Good job to Will, Harvey, and Scott you all did great!
